Panasonic today the "Panasonic Direct Giving Back" e-business initiative. The program allows consumers to direct a donation to a one of three leading environmental organizations when items are purchased through the company's website. Panasonic says the Giving back program is operated at no additional cost to the consumer - the donation, equal to 5% of the purchase price, is made wholly by Panasonic.

The environmental groups involved are Nature Conservancy's Rescue the Reef, National Recycling Coalition's "America Recycles Day" and World Resources Institute's "Green Power Market Development Group.
